The St. Louis premiere of
"FLAT" will be presented at the
Gaslight Theatre in the Central West End on November
15, 2009. A reception will take place before the
performance at 4 p.m., the performance will take
place at 5 p.m., and special patrons will have dinner
afterward at the West End Grill. The Gaslight
Theater is at 358 N. Boyle Ave., St. Louis, MO
63108.
FLAT is a biographical one-act
play that turns convention upside-down and looks at
the bright side of being flat-chested. It explores
the effects of poor body image on humanity through
dance, mime, music, and powerful narration, and
questions societal beauty standards, empowering
women and men of all ages to embrace and love
themselves as they are
FLAT was written by St. Louis Native Ellen Clifford and stars
Clifford together with the show's director Lora
Ivanova and mime artist Mitchel Evans. FLAT received
an Honorable Mention in the nationwide 2007 New
Works of Merit Playwriting Competition.
